Compared to other meal delivery platforms, we offer meals that are:

  • nutritious, to satisfy the tastebuds and more;
  • affordable, to suit all budgets;
  • and prepared by caterers from the social economy that are well established in their communities.

How far in advance do I need to order?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
You will receive an email every month to inform you of the new menus placed online.

Depending on the caterer, you can order up to 3-5 business days before the delivery date.

For home deliveries
You can order up to 15 days in advance. Depending on the caterer, your orders should be made 3-5 business days before delivery, at the latest.

To see the ordering deadlines for a specific caterer, please contact customer service.

How are the meals delivered?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
The meals are delivered hot, either

  • in bulk (the meals arrive in big insulated containers and are served to students in plates, just like in a cafeteria)

or

  • in biodegradable packages.

Despite the fact that La Cantine dans les écoles recommends delivery in bulk for environmental reasons, school infrastructures do not always make it possible.

For home deliveries
The meals are delivered frozen, in individual packages or in a family size format, depending on the situation.

Is it possible to modify an order?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
Yes! Head to the "My Orders" section of your account to make the modifications.

However, you must respect the deadlines established by the caterers. To know these deadlines, please contact customer service.

For home deliveries
It is unfortunately not possible to modify an order. You can however cancel one order and make a new one.

Who can I order meals for?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
You can order for children attending the schools participating in the program.

Would you rather help finance meals for other children? Make a donation here.

For home deliveries
You can order for yourself or for someone you know and that you would like to help.

You will be asked the question the moment you place the order.

What do you mean by "pay according to your means"?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
At La Cantine pour tous, we believe that each child should have access to healthy and balanced meals at school, no matter their social standing. We have therefore established a system of voluntary contribution accessible to all, so parents can choose the amount they pay for their child's meals.

You can choose to pay...

  • what you can: pay according to what your budget allows (minimum of $1 per meal)
  • the price of the meal: our meals cost $5.50 to make and deliver to the school. It is the suggested price by default.
  • more than the price of the meal: by paying more than $5.50, you contribute to paying the meals of other children!

It's up to you to change the price paid per meal from one order to the next, according to your needs.

For home deliveries
The social pricing system allows for certain targeted populations (people from a senior's residence or a low-cost housing project partnering with La Cantine pour tous, for example) to have access to our meals at a reduced price.

How does it work for food allergies?

The list of ingredients mentioned on our website is not exhaustive and we cannot be held responsible if a physical reaction or other consequence occured following the ingestion of a meal.

For the La Cantine dans les écoles program,we guarantee that the food does not contain peanuts or nuts. However, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of food allergens, whatever they may be.

Do you offer options for specific diets? (vegetarian, halal, kosher, etc.)

Vegetarianism: The majority of our caterers offer vegetarian options.

Veganism
: We do not offer vegan options at the moment.

Halal
: Our caterers do not source from halal butchers. However, the vegetarian options can generally suit this diet.

Kosher
: Our caterers do not offer kosher options.

Check to see if you selected the right school service center. If this is the case and you still cannot find your child's school, it means that we unfortunately do not serve that school at the moment.

Payment & Cancellation

What methods of payment are accepted?

For La Cantine dans les écoles
Online payment is done by credit card.

If you do not have a credit card, select "Pay by Interac e-Transfer" when you get to checkout. The details to make the payment will be sent to you by email.

For home deliveries
you have the option to pay:

  • online (by credit card)

or

  • at the moment of delivery (see the table below, the methods of payment vary depending on the caterer)

Can I pay for multiple orders in one payment?

No, for the moment each order must be paid individually. We are working on this aspect to offer you a better user experience.

After placing an order, how can I see what I ordered?

Once connected, click on your name at the top right of the screen. Aftewards, click on "My Orders" in the menu that will appear.

Is it possible to cancel an order?

Yes! To cancel an order, head to the "My Orders" section of your account.
